Media Releaes: Sri Lanka Shippers' Council hails the Sri Lanka Customs initiative to facilitate exports

Sri Lanka Shippers' Council, an Affiliated Trade Association of the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce believes that the establishment of the new export facilitation center at the port access road will help local exporters to process export documentation 24x7x365.

Sri Lanka Shippers' council has repeatedly emphasized the necessity for the exporters and importers to have a minimum paperless environment in the cargo clearance procedure that would ensure trade facilitation with minimum operational delays and cost.

This development will certainly help Sri Lanka to climb up the ease of doing business ranking in South Asia and improve its global rankings, thus helping the country's post war economic growth.

“What is more important is actual progress in reforms to have a material improvement in the regulatory framework and systems to ease business process.” The Council noted.

While congratulating Sri Lanka Custom's initiative, the Council awaits the early and full implement of the e-CDN Facility, e-warranting and green channel facility for all export cargo.
