Sri Lanka Shippers' Council Meeting with Sri Lanka Customs

We are pleased to inform you that Sri Lanka Shippers' Council had a productive meeting with Mr. Jagath Wijeweera, Director General of Sri Lanka Customs along with his team to discuss the recent trade circular issued by Sri Lanka Customs with regard to the Changes to the Export Cargo Clearance Procedure and the other prevailing trade issues.

Although it is stated in the Sri Lanka Customs recent trade notice to all Exporters and Customs House Agents that the Changes to the Export Cargo Clearance Procedure was scheduled to be implemented by 01st of July 2013, the DGC has confirmed that full implementation will be further delayed until the relevant Gazette notification is published.

It was mentioned at the meeting, that the exact timeline would be given as soon as the Gazette is ready.
